<li><strong>Attend Region and Division meeting, along with attendance at the Spring Officer&#8217;s meeting each April</strong></li>
</ul>
<p><strong><span style="color: #ff0000;">Section Chief</span>:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Be a liaison between PD and Patrollers within their Section</strong></li>
<li><strong>Make annual visits to Patrols in their Section</strong></li>
<li><strong>Listen to concerns/needs of patrols and communicate to appropriate staff or program director.</strong></li>
<li><strong>Attend Region meetings and required Division meetings such as the Spring Officer&#8217;s meeting each April( this is a Friday, Saturday &amp; Sunday meeting).  Note: At the SOM in April there is a Section Chief&#8217;s meeting on Friday night, attendance is important and informative.  You will be assigned to a Division Committee and be expected to be an active participant.</strong></li>
</ul>

</strong><strong>NH Region by laws&#8230;&#8230;..</strong></p>
<p><strong>Section 5.1 – <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Eligibility<br />
</span></strong>No officer shall be elected or appointed who shall not meet the eligibility requirements contained in the Division By-Laws in effect at the time of selection, nor shall such officer continue to hold office in the event of later ineligibility.</p>
<p><strong>Section 5.2 – <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Region Director</span></strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><br />
</span>The Region Director shall be elected by the Voting Members and shall serve for a term of two years, with a maximum of 6 consecutive years in this position.  The Region Director shall supervise the affairs of the Region, shall preside at all annual and special meetings and shall perform such other duties as may be given him at any annual or special meeting by a majority vote of the Voting Members present.  The Region Director shall hold no other elective office in NSP.<br />
<strong><br />
Section 5.3 – <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Section Chiefs</span></strong><br />
There shall be three Section Chiefs, who shall be elected for a two-year term in alternate years.  A section chief may not serve longer than 6 consecutive years.  The Section Chiefs must be registered and active within a patrol within the region.  A Section chief will represent the northern section of NH (Bretton Woods, Mt Washington, Black Mountain, Gunstock, King Pine, Abernaki, Wilderness) , the Central Section of NH (Dartmouth, Franklin, Storr’s Hill, Ragged,) and the Southern Section of NH (Crotched, Pat’s Peak, Proctor, McIntyre, Mt Sunapee)   Section chiefs shall perform such duties as shall be given by the Region Director.  The region director shall appoint one Section chief as Alternate Region Director who shall have the power granted by the Division By-laws including the power to serve as Region Director in the absence of Region Director.  The Section Chief shall have a vote in all Region and Division matters as provided by these By-laws and the Division By-laws. Section Chiefs shall hold no other elective office in NSP.</p>
<p><strong>Section 5.8 &#8211; Qualification of Region Director and Section Chiefs<br />
</strong>Elective officers, except Patrol Directors, shall have the qualification shown in Section 4.1 of the Division  By-laws.<br />

<strong>DIVISION BY-LAWS</strong></p>
<p>4.1 <strong>Eligibility</strong>. Region Director candidates must be Active registered patrollers in the Region which they seek to represent, have a <strong>minimum of five seasons</strong> <strong>of patrolling experience</strong>, and have <strong>achieved Senior Alpine, Senior Nordic, or Certified status</strong>. Members currently registered as Auxiliary Patrollers are qualified to become Region Director candidates if they have met the requirements described above at some point in their patrol career.</p>
<p><em>NOTE: According to NH Region by-laws, Section Chief&#8217;s must have the same qualifications as the Region Director.</em></p>

Election Process</strong></p>

<p><strong>A </strong><strong>Section Chief serves <strong>for a term of two years, with a maximum of 6 consecutive years in this position</strong> and is responsible for assisting the RD in coordinating the region&#8217;s affairs in the northern section which consists of Black, Gunstock, King Pine , Mt. Washington, Abernaki and Bretton Woods.</strong></p>
<p>Election for the two positions will be held at each patrol&#8217;s refresher in the Fall of 2012. The election will be by secret written ballot and there will be an opportunity for write-in candidates on each ballot. All active members shall be permitted to cast one vote. <strong>A</strong> <strong>patroller is</strong> <strong>considered an active member if he/she has a NSP registration number reflecting primary membership in a patrol in the</strong> <strong>New Hampshire region, excluding alumni, medical associates, candidates and professional division members. Only</strong> <strong>active members of the patrols located in the northern sections will be permitted to vote for the Section</strong> <strong>Chief position in their respective sections. </strong>In the event a member does not complete his or her refresher at his/her home patrol arrangements will be made to permit that member to vote at the refresher he/she attends. A vote tally will be announced after the last refresher in each section has completed the voting process.</p>
<p><strong>DEADLINES:</strong><strong> For those qualified and interested patrollers, notice of your interest must be received  (in writing (via snail mail) or email) to one of the members of the Election Committee by the deadline date <span style="color: #ff6600;">April 15, 2012</span>.  <span style="color: #800080;">Any notice of interest received after the deadline date </span><em><span style="color: #800080;">WILL NOT BE COUNTED</span>.  All notices of interested must have a date stamp on them in order to be valid.  Telling someone on the Election Committee  you are interested WILL NOT COUNT&#8230;<span style="color: #ff6600;">it must be in writing and date stamped by either the US MAIL or an email date stamp.  </span></em> Elections will be held at Patrol Refreshers this Fall.</strong></p>

<p>John Knieriem, the Patrol Director Mount Washington Volunteer Ski Patrol, received the Eastman Award for his &#8220;outstanding contribution and support of the Mt. Washington Valley/White Mountains through climbing, skiing and search and rescue efforts.&#8221;</p>
<p>This award was presented at the annual meeting and dinner of &#8220;Friends of Tuckerman Ravine&#8221; on Nov 5th 2011. This event was attended by approximately 100 individuals. The presentation was given by the Eastman Family in honor of their son Steve.</p>
<p>John has been on the Mt. Washington Volunteer Ski Patrol for 25 years and has served as Patrol Director since 1994 with exemplary leadership.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>NH Region MTR Advisor, Eric Zaharee has scheduled a Mountain Travel &amp; Rescue Level 2 course this season.  Eric teams up with many MTR instructors from neighboring regions as they conduct their courses.  If you took MTR1 last season then this is the perfect follow on course.</p>
<p>This course spans over two weekends and consists largely of fieldwork.  The first weekend is January 28th thruough the 29th in the Western Massachusetts Mountains.  The second longer weekend is held in New Hampshire at Mount Moosilauke.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong><span style="font-size: large;">Update 11-17-2011 Qualification change</span></strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s NH Region NSP Election time again.  The positions that are open are Central Section Chief and Southern Section Chief</p>
<p><strong>Section Chief:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Be a liaison between PD and Patrollers within their Section</li>
<li>Make annual visits to Patrols in their Section</li>
<li>Listen to concerns/needs of patrols and communicate to appropriate staff or program director.</li>
<li>Attend Region meetings and required Division meetings such as the Spring Officer&#8217;s meeting each April( this is a Friday, Saturday &amp; Sunday meeting).  Note: At the SOM in April there is a Section Chief&#8217;s meeting on Friday night, attendance is important and informative.  You will be assigned to a Division Committee and be expected to be an active participant.</li>
</ul>

</strong> <strong>Section 5.3 – <span style="text-decoration: underline;">Section Chiefs</span></strong><br />
There shall be three Section Chiefs, who shall be elected for a two-year term in alternate years.  A section chief may not serve longer than 6 consecutive years.  The Section Chiefs must be registered and active within a patrol within the region.  A Section chief will represent the northern section of NH (Wilderness, Mt Washington, Black Mountain, King Pine, Abernaki, Gunstock, Bretton Woods) , <strong>the Central Section of NH (Dartmouth Skiway, Franklin Outing, Storr’s Hill, Ragged</strong><strong>) and the Southern Section of NH (Crotched, Pat’s Peak, Proctor, McIntyre, Mt Sunapee, Whaleback, Granite Gorge)  </strong> Section chiefs shall perform such duties as shall be given by the Region Director.  The region director shall appoint one Section chief as Alternate Region Director who shall have the power granted by the Division By-laws including the power to serve as Region Director in the absence of Region Director.  The Section Chief shall have a vote in all Region and Division matters as provided by these By-laws and the Division By-laws. Section Chiefs shall hold no other elective office in NSP.</p>

<div style="text-align: -webkit-center;"><strong>Election Process</strong></div>
<p><strong>A Section Chief serves a two (2) year term and is responsible for assisting the RD in coordinating the region&#8217;s affairs</strong></p>
<p>Election for the two positions will be held at each Registered Patrol between the allotted time stated below under<em> DEADLINES</em>. The election will be by secret written ballot and there will be an opportunity for write-in candidates on each ballot. All active members shall be permitted to cast one vote. <strong>A</strong> <strong>patroller is</strong> <strong>considered an active member if he/she has a NSP registration number reflecting primary membership in a patrol in the</strong> <strong>New Hampshire region, excluding alumni, medical associates, candidates and professional division members. Only</strong> <strong>active members of the patrols located in the Central and Southern sections will be permitted to vote for the Section</strong> <strong>Chief position in their respective sections. </strong></p>
<p><strong>DEADLINES</strong>:For those qualified and interested patrollers, notice of your interest must be received (<span style="background-color: #ccffff;"><strong> in writing, such as email</strong>)</span> by the Chairperson of the Elections  by December 08, 2011.  Validation and confirmation of qualified patroller will be decided by December 14, 2011.  Ballots to be sent to the PD&#8217;s by December 22nd along with a roster to check off eligible voting patrollers    Ballot need to be postmarked by January 15, 2012 and received no later than January 18, 2012 at Paul Kling&#8217;s home. A short bio which can be posted on the website should be received by December 15, 2011 .  Elections will be held at all Registered Patrols in the Central and Southern Sections.</p>

2. Click on MyBradyKitResource Central at the top of the Brady page<br />
3. Scroll down to MyNSPKIT (bottom of the page)<br />
4. Go to first time user Student<br />
Set up an account (you will need the pass code on the book cover, scratch<br />
off the silver strip).  It will ask for a school name.  You can enter any<br />
name you want.<br />
Follow set up instructions<br />
5. You will receive a confirmation email that your account has been setup.<br />
6. Log in</p>
<p>Look at the left side of the page Content Revisions.  We will put the<br />
content revisions under Member Resources on the NSP site.</p>
